Introducing my new Maggie....

This is slowly becoming a habit... LOL   Whilst skype-ing and chatting this evening I managed to put a little card together for the challenge over at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog, where's its Pink, Brown or Baby-Themed.  As I don't have any baby maggies, I thought I'd go with the Pink and Brown theme...  I am also entering this card into the 7 Kids College Fund challenge, where they challenge you to make a Square card, now how easy is that! And... One Crazy Stamper's Challenge Blog, where the theme for February is Pink! At Bunny Zoe's Crafts, the challenge is to use Spring Flowers, so I'll enter this card there as well...

I am sure you all have your favourite Maggies or that one special Maggie that just steals your heart... yes ?  Right!  Well... this little Cross Stitched Tilda has been haunting me on my blog rounds... then I stop and stare at some of the beautiful creations I've come across and wonder 'should I or shouldn't I ?', that means 'should I BUY her or not'... and I think 'why is she so special?'  Heck, I have no idea, but she stole my heart ages ago and I am so pleased she arrived home safe and sound so that I could introduce her to you... so, without further ado, here's my little Cross Stitched Tilda... purchased from 7 Kids College Fund, my favourite online store...

In a previous post, I mentioned that I don't have any Magnolia backgrounds, but that it is on my wish list... I dug around in my storage boxes and found this background image from Whiff of Joy created by Elisabeth Bell and thought it would match my little Tilda perfectly.  Hope you think so too?

As I am waiting for my Momento Ink Cocoa to arrive, I used the Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Vintage Photo, to stamp my Tilda and it worked very well.  A softer look than the pure black.  She was coloured with Copics. I am still experimenting with the hair colour and quite like this paler shade of brown.

The base of my card is a lovely chocolate brown and I found some lovely bits and pieces of gingham and spotted designer paper to decorate.  The nestie is a Nellie Snellen... shew, so pleased I had it as it's the only one that I could use to fit in the background as well. Further embellies are some stunning flowers I have in my stash... I use them far too seldom and Kendall keeps telling me to 'use them Mom, so that you can buy some 'more... so I really went to town with them...LOL   Just added a few pearls for class and a pink bow and button.  As you can see, I decorated the inside as well, to give it that polished look...

My final photograph to show you how I used dimension glaze to accentuate some of the flowers and leaves, Tilda's little heart on her apron and the ribbon in her hair.

I am so pleased with the final result.  Thank you so much to all the Maggie-lovers over at the Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group that pop around and shower me with 'love' and of course all my other lovely friends... I so appreciate your comments.  They make my day!  If you are visiting for the first time and share a love for these gorgeous Tilda's and Edwin's, then this is the group to join.

Take care, I'll catch up with you again later in the week... Until then, happy crafting, hugs Sharon x
