Oh Happy Day....

Happy Thursday my lovely friends... In South Africa we have a public holiday today... hence my heading Oh Happy Day...lol  I just love public holidays, as it gives me an extra day to craft and play, apart from the weekends.  As working girls we treasure these days, don't we ?

A very warm welcome to my new Creative Friends who have joined my followers list... so pleased to see some new faces. I'll be popping around to visit you all soon.

I was skype-ing with some lovely friends last night, happily colouring in this image which you'll see on my card, thinking that I'd be entering it into the TOMIC colour challenge which is Pink, White and Brown... Once I had coloured the image I showed it to my lovely friend Paola and she asks "What challenge are you entering that one into Shazi?", so I tell her "The TOMIC challenge silly!"... uhhh, it's then that she reminds me that it is NOT a Magnolia image... oh my HAT, did I gasp and fume... How on earth could I have been so stupid ???  So... there I had to go sifting through the whole of blogland to find a suitable challenge to enter this cute little card with an Elisabeth Bell image into.  Have you ever done something similar ?  Please say "yes", then I won't feel so bad !! hehehe

I've really waffled on long enough, but just had to share that story with you all. So, here's my little card in question.  Let me tell you, I just LOVED making this one... can you tell ? And what do you think of my little watering can prop ???  Ain't it adorable ?

My friend Deidre introduced me to a new shop (Super Floral, 27 Transvaal Street, Paarden Eiland, Cape Town)  and this is where I found some stunning ribbon, flowers and this divine little watering can.  So... I decided to purchase 2, one in pink and one in white to use as props for my card.

I am entering my card into these 2 challenges:
Simon Says Stamps - Bingo (I chose Flowers, Brads and Sentiment)
 Paper Sundaes - Girly Girl

Here are some more pics to share.

The image was kindly stamped for me by Paola - thanks so much!  She has been coloured in with Copics.  I've used some chalk for the blue sky.  The sentiment is from Sandra, thanks honey!  The base of my card is white and I've used bazzill cardstock to layer.  I would like to acknowledge Julie Glasgow from Colarado, USA who kindly emailed me when I asked how she got her edges so distressed.  We were using the same MM distress tool, but somehow my previous attempts didn't quite look as good as hers... ahhh, the secret is to use loads of pressure, which is what I did and it worked !  yayyyy!  Thanks Julie for this tip.

Oh what the heck, let me throw in another card with the white watering can this time, then I've really showed them both off to you all...LOL!!!

Thanks so much for popping by and leaving a comment, I really enjoy reading them. I have an extra long weekend, as I've taken tomorrow off too... yippeeeee!

Happy crafting, hugs Sharon x

Oh dearest Sharon, your cards are simply adorable, as always. Wonderful colouring, so beautifully co-ordinated, great papers and love all the flowers.
The watering cans are just so cute, they look fabulous by your cards.
By the way, YES, I have done the same as you recently, so you are not alone sweetie. Happy crafting.
With love, Sandra xxx

Your card looks great! I think your distressing is perfect. And you are definitely not alone. I have made cards for challenges with the wrong image and missed many cut offs. It gets pretty complicated at times, so don't feel bad.
