A little bit of This and That to share...
Hello friends
I've been back at work a week and 2 days now and the holidays are just a sweet memory away. I am missing my little Nikita terribly... I cannot wait to get home in the evenings to shower her with kisses and cuddles. She does get irritated with me during this show of extreme affection and squirms and squeals her way through all the love I pour on her, but I really don't care ;) She's her Mommy's little baby and that's what you get for being such a cute little kitty hey ! LOL
I must share a slight disastrous affair over the weekend. I was helping Kendall colour her hair on Sunday evening and after living without a pet for so long, we just forgot how inquisitive a little kitty can be. Colouring one's hair can be a darn messy affair and as I was squeezing some of the mixture out of the tube, a blob flew into the air and landed on Nikita's WHITE fur, just beneath her eye.
Hell's bells... I was like a madwoman.. I furiously began washing my hands, trying to grab her before she ran off to hide under the bed, hoping and praying that I had got all the mixture OFF my hands, as most of her body is cover in WHITE FUR!!! Forgive me Lord, but my language at that moment was a teeny bit colourful...lol Unfortunately, the damage had already been done! When I wiped under her eye, so the dye sat and stared at me. A tiny blob, but I could have cried !!! Here's a pic to show you what I am referring to. She was not charmed at having her pic taken !
If any of my kitty owner friends out there have any tips on how to remove this dye, please let me know. I somehow think we'll have to wait for it to GROW out.
Perhaps my dear friends on Pinterest may have got a hint, after viewing all my Repins of late...lol). I am soooooo excited to share the news that in October last year we decided to look for a house in a secure complex, as we are feeling a bit cramped in the flat. I long to sit in the sunshine and potter around in a little garden. My dear Mom can also not manage the stairs anymore, so her visits are few and far between which saddens us a great deal, as we love having her around and spoiling her. Well... yesterday I went to sign the papers for the transfer of our new house into my name. It is still in the process of being built and we hope to move in around March/April. Just to give you an idea of what it'll look like, here is a pic of our neighbour's house. In the right hand corner you can see part of our property.
As you can imagine, with all this going on, there has not been much time to blog hop hence my absence of late. I hope my blog friends will forgive me for this ;)
I am trying to make amends and managed to pop around earlier this morning to visit a cute little blog I follow. It is filled with lots of home crafts ideas, caravan and other make-overs and photographs of our beautiful scenery here in the Cape. If you haven't been to visit Bonnie at Living Life Creatively, then you must pop around soon. Pour yourself a cuppa tea and settle down for a leisurely visit. You will not be disappointed. I've just noticed you've joined my blog, thanks so much Bonnie and a very warm welcome to you.
Before I go, I'd like to ask a question that has been on my mind for a while now. As this is essentially a craft blog where I share my handmade creations, is it acceptable (I can't think of another word) to place pics/news of other things going on in one's life, like this post for example or do you think one should create a separate blog for this purpose ? Perhaps one should change the name of one's blog ? That's 3 questions if my math is correct...lol I'd love to hear your thoughts and hopefully this'll help me decide whether I should keep Sharon's Kardz Korner purely for my handmade creations and create a new blog where I share just about anything.
Shew... if you're still here, thank you for sticking with me. This post turned out to be a LOT longer than I had anticipated.
Thanks for popping around today, hugs Sharon x

Hi Sharon!
I wouldn't worry about Kitty. The dye will eventually grow out. Being summer, she will shed her hair and it will be gone before you know it!
Congrats on finding a new home. It looks very sweet!
Thank you also for the mention.*blush*
I had the same dilemma with my blog-should it be just a "work" blog, a place to advertise my designs and makes...etc but I soon realized (with a lot of feedback too) that people enjoy people. We all like to read about the person behind the craft/hobby/shop. It is what makes us more appealing and people like to know who they are reading about. A bit of personal stuff is nice. It's just a question of balance. At least this is what I found and I hope it can help you in your decision!
Just remember: don't share anything that makes you uncomfortable, anything that will come back to haunt you or anything you would be embarrassed about a few months/years down the line.
Those are things I learned. Whatever we put on the net stays on the net, even if we delete it. It is never truly gone. (they say it takes 15 years for any information to be truly gone once it is deleted!!)
hugs!
Congratulations on your new home....so exciting. I think it is great to know a little about the person behind the cards, so I would keep on writing about things in one's life, just keeping a good balance.
I am sure Kitty will soon be rid of her stain. Hugs, Ursula
Hi Sharon, oooh how exciting, a new home! I hope it all goes well for you and you move in very quickly.
Awww poor Nikita, I cant think of anyway to remove the dyed fur, it will grow out very soon. My westie is usually got a lovely glittery coat most of the time! Lol
I think its lovely to learn more about the person behind the creations, so in my opinion its good to share and the majority of followers enjoy hearing about things you do and enjoy other than just crafts.
I blog was started as a card blog but I quickly learned that a lot of what I do and make can depend on my mood and what is going on in my life and I need to share sometimes what else is happening.
Hugs

Hi Sharon. I think you should keep this blog and use it for whatever you want, after all, it is your blog and your news, and personally I love to read all the other bits. It keeps people more in touch, instead of searching for another blog.
Just my opinion.
Lots of love, Sandra xx
What wonderful news Shaz! I bet you can't wait to start packing. I hope you have a craft room to play in?
I too share stuff on my blog but have had the same misgivings that you have. Although I don't think I would have the time or energy to keep two blogs going!
I guess if one goes with gut instinct and shares from the heart, that's all that matters,
Truly thrilled with your news.
Hugz
Please don't stick to cards. It is lovely to learn about the lives of the people we regularly visit. Especially if you have stories of your fur babies. She is adorable. I too shower my kitty with kisses - she is so cute you just want to squeeze her.
Hugs Sharon, x
Good morning
Congratulations on signing the papers, I am so happy for you. You will have lots off fun times getting the new place set up just as you would like it. Please keep on blogging about the progress.
I have to agree with Bonnie and Ursula, it is nice to know what is going on in the blogger's life. I love to hear about Nikita's adventures as she is so cute and it is also great to see how she is growing, please do not stop. :-)
Have an awsome day.
Hugs,
Marika
Hi Sweetie ! Poor Madam Fifi ! I am sure you were more upset than her ! I am so happy for you that you have found a house ! It is so exciting isn't it ? And I think that you can share whatever you like on your blog... No need to start another one ! Hugs, blessings and love from Catherine
Just been reading all your news Sharon.
In answer to the question of a separate blog, no keep it together , I like reading about things but this would only happen on a card blog as these are all I read.
Poor Nikita, it will wear off , but I have bathed several cats over the years. You need nerves of steel and grip very firmly at the base of their neck and wash in warm soapy water. We had a cat Benny always in oil but one day went in red floor paint in a neighbours yard. I had to snip it out with scissors and wash his whole coat.
The bungalow looks lovely , I hope you will all be happy there , I could not live in a flat. We hope to move this year to a Welsh Cottage, in rural North Wales, long as they have internet.
take care. janex
Oh poor Kitty!!! I guess it will fade in time!!
Congrats on the house!! Can;t wait to see you posting pics of your one :D the neighbours looks great!!
I think it's your blog you can use it for whatever you like!! :) Mine is mainly craft still but I throw this and that in there as well that's not craft... :)

Hi Sharon,
Don't worry Nikita's coat will be replaced as winter comes nearer :-)
One blog is still the best to read all the news and crafting together, so please keep at it as is lol
Congratulations on you new place, sure now that you have signed, can wait for the big move date. As that house will become, Sharon's home. Keep well my friend.
Hugs, Charlie
So pleased to hear your happy news about your new house!
I'm sure by now kitty's hair colour has faded or you have trimmed it off.
We love reading personal news it make the blogs more "real".
Have a great weekend! Hugs
