60th Birthday

Hello friends

I can't believe that it is almost weekend again.  We had a public holiday in South Africa on Wednesday and it's thrown us all out.  Somehow today we all assumed it was Monday, so it's a very welcome day tomorrow... the start of the weekend.

I was commissioned to make a 60th Birthday Card and thought I would share with you what I've come up with.  It really took me 45 minutes to make, which is a record for me...LOL

The gorgeous papers are brand-spanking-new, having just arrived in the post today from Elaine's shop, Quixotic Paperie... wow, what service. It has taken a week to get here.  The papers are from the 6x6 Echo Park Essentials Collection, Dots & Stripes, which are on SALE at the moment.

As you can see I have kept it very plain and elegant by just using a white pre-cut and scored card.  Onto that I've matted black cardstock and then the gorgeous silver striped paper onto that.  The stamp is a local one from Great Impressions (J653), which comes in handy for the  rare Male cards I need to make, as I only have cute and girlie products as you know...LOL

As you can see, I've decorated the inside too, to match the front.  I then cut a beautiful white piece of card for the message using one of my newer nesties.  I've used no other embellishments, seeing that it is for a gentleman.

I hope they like it, as it was something totally different for me to make.

Before I go, here's a reminder for you to pop by on Saturday to see what I've created for another stunning challenge at the Totally Gorjuss blog.

Enjoy the weekend ahead, hugs Sharon x

Hi Sharon. Oh how very striking is this with those gorgeous papers, and it looks great with just a black and white image. I am sure the recipient will love it.
Take care and I will speak soon.

Hey Sharon! I think your card is beautiful! It is a very crisp and clean style, which I love!!!
Sorry about not giving the name of the paper pad on my blog, I totally forgot. It is MME - Dolled Up! Hope that helps!

Have a wonderful day!
