House of Sketches Challenge #9

Hello friends... hope you have all had a wonderful week.  Tomorrow is Friday and that means it's weekend again... YAY!  Is it my imagination or did this week pass by quickly ?  There are so many challenges to take part in, I thought I'd better start early.  Found a new challenge blog called House of Sketches.  My Dutch friends Elly and Ilonka are on their Design Team and I thought I would support them this week.  Please pay House of Sketches a visit as they have a lovely little sketch for you to follow.  Here is my interpretation thereof.

Base: Navy cardstock
DP: A South African brand called Fab Scraps, this one is called Girly Stripes. I will have to get some more, as I just have a small piece left.
Image:  This beautiful Butterfly Teddy is a digistamp, drawn by the very talented Vera.  Vera offered her as a freebie on her blog and I jumped at the opportunity. I fell in love with this little Teddy almost immediately and couldn't wait to colour her in. I've done so with Copics. I just had to outline her wings with some beautiful fine silver glitter from the Scrapnook.
Embellies:  For my regular visitors, you will have noticed that for the Totally Gorjuss challenge I made a card with a Gorjuss Girl, also lovely DP with hearts and flowers. As I did not have a heart cutter, I mentioned that I had drawn the hearts myself and cut them out, albeit a bit skew.  Well... a very kind friend gave me a Fiskars Heart Shaped Cutter as a gift and I spent one evening cutting out different coloured hearts from scraps of paper which I have in my stash.  As you can see, they have been used on this card and they look soooo much better than my hand-made ones ;)   They also give a little touch of Valentine-ness to my card.  Thanks so much Alison, this was so kind of you. I'll be dropping off a Thank You card for you shortly.

As I am typing this post, the wind is howling outside, so much so that my windows are rattling.  I think we are in for a storm later.  They certainly don't call Cape Town the Cape of Storms for nothing.  Shew, in Winter we can really get them fierce and strong. I don't think this one will create much chaos though.

That's it for tonight folks... wishing you all a fab evening and I'll catch up with you later over the weekend.  I have been blog-hopping and all of you have been creating some beautiful cards.  It really inspires me to see such beautiful work.  Take care... tons of hugs Sharon x
