RSA Stampers, you rock!

Happy Thursday everyone... hope you are all well and enjoying whatever gives you pleasure... be it gardening, baking, crafting...  My international friends seem to be enjoying a wonderful Summer and, for today, I can share that we are having a beautiful sunshine filled Winter's day in Cape Town.

As most of you who follow my blog regularly have read, I joined the Rubber Stamping in South Africa Yahoo group about a month or so ago and have met some wonderful talented ladies.

So... when my cousin's wife Obie, who is the Chairperson of the organising Committee for CANSA's Relay for Life in the Worcester area (and a cancer survivor herself, having undergone a double mastectomy earlier this year with chemo and radium thereafter), called me with a request to make 100 cards for the Association (as they are holding a Relay for Life in Worcester in October), I immediately thought of calling on my group of new friends for assistance.

This post is just to share how wonderfully they have responded to the call.  At the time of posting this message, I have commitments from a few special ladies that they will make 104 cards. Due to other commitments, some can only make 2 or 3 and others have offered to make 5 or 10.  Each and every card is appreciated and I am so overwhelmed that I just had to share this news with you all.

Basically, the message I'd also like to get across is that... if you are approached with a special request like this one, don't try to tackle it on your own, ask and you will receive bountifully !  The kindness and generosity of people will absolutely amaze you!

I made this card in October 2009.  Melyssa of Whimsie Doodles designed the image and for a week it was being offered for free, so I quickly grab it whilst I could.  Then, when Obie had her mastectomy, I made her a similar card using the colours of purple and pink.  This card meant such a lot to her and inspired her to come up with the idea of placing a card in a gift bag which they plan to present to each Cancer Survivor who will be entering the Relay for Life in October in Worcester.

For 3 months now, I have had a premonition that God wanted me to get involved with CANSA and it had something to do with my cards.  Out of the blue, Obie calls me with her special request.  Now isn't He absolutely amazing!!!   Without the assistance of my newfound friends (RSA stampers) though, this would have been quite a task to complete... so thank you ladies.  I can't wait to receive your cards.

Thanks for taking the time to read this extra long post, I hope you don't mind me sharing.  Hugs and blessings, Sharon xoxoxox

Sharon, what a beautiful thing you are doing and I salute you for it! This past Friday, a super and wonderful friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer. It has shaken my world for she is a true friend. She was at my house the day she went for the mammogram and we sat here laughing and giggling for it never enter our minds something would be diagnose from it. So God bless everyone who is contributing to such a worldly cause. I too can make cards for you. Email me with the specifics...Love and hugZ
