Colouring Tilda

Morning friends

I was commissioned to make a card and thought that I would take a few pics in stages, as I have been asked by recipients of my cards whether I buy my coloured images.  When I tell them that it is a rubber stamped image, coloured in with Copics, I get this blank look.... LOL   So, for my lovely non-crafty friends, if you're visiting me today, hopefully this will help you understand what I mean when I go into my long explanation of how I put my cards together.

Firstly, I stamp my image onto Opal Wove Shimmer White cardstock, which I get from a fellow crafter Gail.  We have found that this paper is excellent for use with Copics, Promarkers, etc, as the ink does not bleed.

Then I get out my colouring pens, which are called Copics (you can Google Copics to read all about them).  They are NOT Koki pens, but are special artist pens to assist you with blending your colours to give it that perfect finished look.

Here's the next stage to bring in a bit of colour...  See the Copic pen in the picture.

This pic shows you that I have selected my paper beforehand and am now selecting Copics to colour  Tilda's dress and balloons...

And now for the finished card...  As you can see the colouring is a bit deeper, as one blends and blends until you're happy with your final look.  I've added a few white dots to her dress to make it pop.

You can see that some glossy accents was added to Tilda's balloons to make them pop as well.  I have also added a cloud in the background to create a little scene.

Right, that is how it's done.  I've just added a gorgeous ribbon, rose and a few pearls to complete the picture.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Wishing you all a blessed Sunday !

Love your coloured image, Sharon - beautiful!
Could you let me know details about the cardstock you use for with your copics. I use Promakers and the paper I use are VERY expensive! I would love to find an alternative here in South Africa. (baychriz at gmail dot com). Thank you!
