Whiff of Joy challenge blog are celebrating their 2nd anniversary - congratulations ladies! Their theme this week is to make a Thank You card / Thanksgiving card... remember to use a Whiff of Joy stamp. Simon Says Stamps are the sponsors - a $25.00 gift certificate is up for grabs...woohoo...
As I had the lovely Whiff of Joy's, Willow writing Recipes, already inked and coloured in, I quickly whipped up this card for the challenge. It is my first attempt at making a Pocket Card and I found the tutorial for it here. Incredibly easy to follow, so give it a go! As you all know I just love Elisabeth Bell's illustrations and this Willow must be one of her prettiest, don't you think?
The gorgeous lace and flower was a gift from my blogfriend Amelia... Isn't it divine? Just had to use it with this DP which I, unfortunately, only bought 1 sheet of a while ago. It is Raspberry Tea Collection's "Summer Break". Gorgeous paper to work with.
Here are a few more pics to share with you all...
Willow was coloured in with Copics. The Thank You sentiment is new, purchased from one of our local craft shops. I fell in love with it when I saw it and it came in handy for this card.
Here is the card, out of the pocket. I used one of my freebie stamps to stamp a few lines to write my message on. And then finally, a close up of the super cute Willow...
She looks so deep in thought, doesn't she? Well, that's it for now folks. It seems ages since I entered a challenge. I hope they like this effort over at Whiff of Joy...
Take care, thanks for visiting and for your lovely comments. Hugs Sharon x
Welcome to my little corner of the world. This is where I share bits and pieces of my creative talents. Why don't you grab a cuppa and visit for a while.

Challenge #80 at Whiff of Joy
Good evening dear friends... I managed to get a card made for the Whiff of Joy challenge this week. The gorgeous Willow was kindly stamped by a friend. I have wanted this Willow for ever, but have not bought her as she's part of a kit and I just want her! I wish they'd sell her as a separate stamp. All you need to do is follow the sketch at WoJ. Here's my card for your enjoyment... I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it
The base of my card is a lovely turquoise. The DP comes from a pack of 6x6 sheets. Can't recall where I purchased it from. [Edit: Just remembered, I purchased it from a local shop called Merrypak]. Flowers, ribbon and pearls from my stash. The ribbon is new. Lovely silky satin ribbon, have it in blue and pink too! The nestie is Label 4, new from Scrap-a-Doodles, one of my favourite on-line stores. They are based in Pretoria, SA.
Added a bit of glaze to Willow's pumps and bouquet. The butterfly was punched using my MS Butterfly punch. Punched it twice to form a shadow effect. And because I adore this Willow so much, here's a close up pic of her. I used Copics to colour her in.
I hope they like this one over at Whiff of Joy. That's it for tonight folks... I'm off to watch Germany vs Australia in 5 minutes. Enjoy! hugs Sharon x

Whiff of Joy Challenge #72
My oh my, did I have FUN making this card for the Whiff of Joy challenge this week! All you need to do is follow the lovely sketch by the very talented Bev Rochester. It's as easy as that. I bought some new DP over the weekend from the Scrapbook Shop in Durbanville. Note to all the Cape Town girls: they have discounts on all their DP, so pay them a visit soon ;). It's amazing what inspiration a new piece of paper can give you. Hope you like the colours of this one? It's Lucky from Basic Grey.
The image is a WoJ stamp, Helpful Melinda. I don't think I've used her before - ain't she cute ? Lots of layering as you can see and I've even used my cuttlebug (hooray!). Poor old thing was feeling very neglected in the cupboard, so I thought it was time to bring her out to play...lol Aren't those leaves and flowers just too pretty for words? As mentioned in a previous post, I purchase the most lovely embellies for my cards and then I shelve and forget about them. Kendall spring-cleaned my whole crafty corner for me (ain't she just the best daughter ever?) and I now have a few "new" items to use on my cards. Thought I would also use some lovely glitter for sparkle!!
I really hope they like this one over at WoJ. Thanks for visiting and for the lovely comments. It's always a pleasure reading them and a few new visitors too (hello to Wendy's sister). Hope you've all enjoyed your weekend and looking forward to the working week ahead. Take care, hugs Sharon x

Whiff of Joy Challenge #68 - A Sketch
15 minutes to go and then it's Saturday morning for us in South Africa. What a lovely evening. For the regular followers... as you know we've been having a bit of a heatwave in Cape Town and I have my sliding window open in my room and there's a cool breeze blowing in - what bliss!!!
Whiff of Joy have a sketch for you to follow for their challenge this week. Remember, you have to use a Whiff of Joy stamp to take part. As you know my new stamps arrived last weekend and I've been dying to stamp, colour and share Willow Shopping with you. Isn't she adorable? These stamps were released early this month and everyone in craftland is using them, so I hope you're not too tired of her yet!
The base of my card is chocolate Bazzill. The DP is from Kaiser Kraft - I've used both sides. The turquoise flowers are from the Scrapbook Shop, the big rose from a craft shop at my local Mall, the paper lace from Charmaine's and the pearls and sentiment from Paola. I purchased my Whiff of Joy stamp through Paola, as well as my copics which I used to colour her in. So... for any of the SA girls reading my blog, Paola is the girl to contact for all your lovely crafty must have's... ie embellishments and overseas stamps.
I've kept the inside very simple, using Kaiser Kraft paper for the message board. Hope you've all had a nice crafty evening. I'll catch up with you later over the weekend. For my overseas friends, I believe it's still cold your side of the world... wrap up warmly and enjoy the indoors - gives one a good excuse to craft! Tons of hugs, Sharon x p.s. oh yes, please feel free to leave a comment, I love reading them... thanks!

Whiff of Joy Challenge # 64
Good Afternoon all... very few visits today I see... must be because everyone is busy crafting! I notice that the weather is not too good in Scotland, snowy, windy and terribly cold... a lovely day to stay indoors and craft!
For those of you who did visit me yesterday (thank you ladies ;), you will have read about the gorgeous Design Paper I purchased. I couldn't wait to get busy and this is my little creation for the Whiff of Joy challenge which is based on a sketch by their talented DT member, Gio.
Recipe for this card
Base of card: Bazill in a dark marroon
DP: Both DP's are from the Love Struck range by Making Memories - aren't they gorgeous?
Image: WoJ's Melinda Blowing Hearts, coloured in with Copics. Stamped on gorgeous paper which I purchased from the Scrapnook. The right paper is the key to showing off your colouring to perfection.
Embellies: Lovely roses from my stash. Used my new leaf cutter to punch out somes leaves to rest the roses on. Gorgeous maroon coloured ribbon was used for the corner to make a nice bow. Further added red rhinestones in the corners.
Sentiment: The sentiment is from a mixed set of 79 mixed die-cuts by Making Memories which I also purchased yesterday.
Another shot to show you the inside of the card. I just used plain white card paper to keep it simple and for someone to write a nice long message of love (hehe). I just added one of the die-cut hearts on the top.
Hope you like this little creation and if you do, I'd love for you to leave a comment as I always enjoy reading them. Tons of hugs, Sharon
Before I leave, I must share some very good news with you all... my friend Paola is now a member of the Whiff of Joy Challenge Design Team. Isn't that fabulous? Congrats my friend. We're so proud of you!
