Simply Magnolia (DT) - Food Theme

Hello friends

Thank you for popping by to see what I have created for the Simply Magnolia challenge.  This fortnight our challenge is a ...

Food Theme

I have decided that for 2013 I will start reusing some of my older Tilda's which have been neglected for so long.  This one you will remember is Peach Tilda from the Yummy for your Tummy Collection.  You can purchase her from our sponsor in Australia, Stamping Tilda.  Do pay their store a visit, shipping is FREE WORLDWIDE.  Now who can resist that ?

Here is my creation for your inspiration.  It's a bit bright, but then it is still Summer here in SA, where we are enjoying an abundance of fruit and Nectarines are one of my absolute favourites.  What is your favourite fruit ?  I can list quite a few: Sweet melon, Watermelon, Bananas, Kiwi and Strawberries...hmmmm

Recipe for this card
Image: Magnolia's Peach Tilda from the Yummy for your Tummy collection
Cardstock: Variety of Bazzill coloured cardstock
Patterned Paper: Dovecraft collections, 6x6 Tea Party (a gift from my friend Sandra)
Corner Dies: Whimsy Stamps, Corner Die Set (a Christmas gift from my friend Sandra)
Sentiment: Gratefully shared by the talented Annette
Doily: A gift from my SM teamie, Sara
Flowers and Bow: From my stash

Please visit the rest of the Simply Magnolia teamies to see what they have created for you.  You will not be disappointed.

Thanks so much for popping by. If you have the time, please leave a comment as I so enjoy reading them.

Christmas Cards to Share...

Good morning....Like a lot of you out there, I too have left my Christmas cardmaking until the last minute... shew, we're already in December and I feel as if I still have loads more to do.

I just thought I would share some cards which I made last night.  This gorgeous stamp, Christmas Tree In Words, which I ordered from Whimsy Stamps arrived in the post on Friday and I couldn't wait to ink it up.  I just knew that it would make the most wonderful simple Christmas cards and hope you agree.

I love shopping at Whimsy Stamps, as their stamps arrive within 2-3 weeks.  They also put in an extra stamp or two which is nice!  As you can see, in the background I have Tilda sitting on a candy cane, she's waiting to be placed on a card... So much to do and so little time...

Gotta go.  Have a blessed Sunday. hugs Sharon x

Anything Goes Challenge #49 (DT) - Shabby Chic/Vintage

Welcome to a new challenge on the Anything Goes Challenge Blog.  This is my first DT card.  I hope you'll find some inspiration, so that you can join in the fun this fortnight.  Our challenge is Shabby Chic/Vintage, so let those creative juices flow.  The Top 3 get a lovely badge to display on their blogs.  How cool is that?

This stamp was kindly stamped for me by a friend and I think it's the first time I am using her on my blog. She's called Tilda with Spring Bundle.  Wish I could own most of the Maggies I like...hehehe

The printed paper I've used is from the stunning 6x6 paper stack Lilac Mist by Wild Rose Studio. You can find them at The Craft Den.  The darker purple is from a 6x6 paper pack from W&M, purchased from Merrypak.  I stamped Whimsy Stamps vintage postcard and popped it behind our gorgeous Tilda.  The fence was a gift from a friend and this is the last bit that's over.  The beautiful leaves were also punched for me by another friend. The rest of the embellishments are from my stash.

Please visit The Craft Den for all your crafting needs.

Thanks for popping by. I'd love for you to leave a message, as I so enjoy reading them, hugs Sharon x

Simply Magnolia (DT) - Anything Goes

Woopee doo... happy Sunday everyone and welcome to another challenge at Simply Magnolia, where all Maggie stamp lovers meet.  This fortnight's challenge is ANYTHING GOES, so let your imagination run away with you.

I've tried something different, not sure if I did it right, but hey... we all have to learn something new sometime or other hey!  I received some white acrylic medium which I bought from Paola and thought I would brush some on my floral paper and leaves... and this is the look I've achieved.

This gorgeous little Maggie is a newby, also a purchase from Paola, she's called Sitting Angel.  Ain't she another cutie?  The designer paper is also a purchase from Paola, love them! The flower is from Prima, I think.  The Postcard stamp is from Whimsy stamps and both images were stamped with Momento's Rich Cocoa.  Tilda is coloured with Copics.  I then added a few card candies in the corners.  Wanted to use buttons, but they somehow didn't look right!  Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Thanks so much for popping by and we hope that you'll be inspired to join our challenge.  Our wonderful sponsors are De Egel.  As a prize they are giving away 80 sheets of this beautiful ColourCore 15x15cm paper.

It's such a fun way to make new friends and to see what stunning creations there are out there.  We'd love to leave a comment next to your creation.

Tons of Maggie hugs to you all, Sharon x

Simply Magnolia (DT) - Pink / Brown / Cream

Hi everyone and welcome to another challenge at Simply Magnolia, where all Maggie-lovers meet.  Today we have a super challenge for you.... a colour combo of Pink, Brown and Cream.... how fab is that ?? One of my favourite colour combinations.

For the base of my card, I've chosen a cream cardstock and have used the same colour to cut my scalloped nestie from. The gorgeous DP is from one of my purchases from Crafty Emma's Store, paper pack by Prima called Annalee.  The most beautiful pack ever!  The papers are far too nice to cover completely, hence me only using the corners to embellish.  I've kept it to a minimum by using pearls from my stash and some gorgeous new cream seam binding and flowers from Creative Treasures. The postage stamp sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.

Our kind sponsor this week is Phooka.  The winner of our challenge will win some digi's by Myriam.

We love visiting you and making new friends.  Thanks for joining our previous challenge. We hope you'll be back again to join in this new one.

Thanks for popping by and happy crafting.  If you'd like to leave a comment, it would make my day!  hugs Sharon x

Birthday Card (DT) - Simply Magnolia

Woohoooo.... I must be the happiest girl in blogland right now... I am thrilled to be on the Simply Magnolia DT.  Thanks so much to all my lovely blogfriends who left me congratulatory messages, I value your support so much.

For those of  of you who don't know, our challenges are bi-weekly and we'd like YOU to make a Birthday Card, using a Magnolia image of course.  I really hope you'll feel inspired to join in the FUN, as there are wonderful prizes to be won. Our sponsor for this challenge is De Egel Kaartenmakerij.   The prizes shouldn't be your only incentive to enter though, think how many new Maggie-lover friends you'll be meeting.  For me, that's the most exciting part!

For my first DT card I've used Tilda with Balloon.  I've gone for the distressed look which I'm really into right now.  I hope you like it!

I was thrilled to receive my new Postage Sentiment stamps from Whimsy Stamps... isn't this one on the left just too gorgeous???  The sentiment on the bottom right is from LOTV.  The flowers are from my stash.  The image was kindly stamped for me by a dear friend in Belgium, thanks Lins.  Plain cardstock is Bazill purchased from my favourite local store The Scrapbook Shop in Bellville. Estelle is the Manageress and she's a honey !  Visiting the store is NEVER a 5 minute affair, as Estelle loves to chat...LOL.  The pink satin ribbon is new - I bought it in 2 sizes and whole rolls of it!  The lovely scalloped card was purchased from Creative Treasures - love them!

Wishing you all a FABULOUS crafting weekend.  I hope to see your name on our list of entrants.

[Edit: It appears that the challenge date and day on our DT blog did not coincide, apologies for that. My post is therefore a day early.  Please pop around to the SM challenge blog tomorrow as challenges run bi-weekly on Sundays. The positive is that you have a whole day in advance to think about what you'll be making for the challenge...hehe]

As mentioned in a previous post Paperlane have a NEW challenge blog.  They stock the Molly Bloom stamps, which I am absolutely crazy about and as I own a few, this is the perfect opportunity for me to share them with you.  I really hope you'll fall in love with them as much as I have and that you'll join in the FUN at Paperlane.

Without any further ado, here are my Molly and George taking part in the first challenge Anything BUT Square over at Paperlane.  The card is a shaped card, which is anything but square...lol

As can be seen, I've used alot of embellishments on this card. Molly and George have been coloured in with Copics.

The gorgeous postage stamp is from Whimsy Stamps... love them!  Ribbon, lace, flowers from my stash. I'm using my flowers more, as you can see...lol

3 Sunday Challenges...

Good evening friends... gosh, but my weekend has been a busy one.  Thought I'd have more time to craft, but you know how it goes... things just never turn out as you expect them to, and before you know it, the weekend is over... drat!

Well, I browsed blogland and found 3 challenges to enter this little card into.  This Tilda with Heart was coloured in ages ago and she's been dying to come out to play, so here she is...

The card is new from Little Claire Designs, don't you just love it?  The sentiment is also from Little Claire Designs.  These are pop-out sentiments and all I did was use my small scalloped nestie to cut a matching lilac circle and glued the sentiment onto that.   The Vintage Postcard is also a newbie from Whimsy Stamps, just loved this the moment I saw it and I knew I had to buy it!

I just love the way the light shone through on this card and had to share this pic too.  I managed to decorate the inside as well, as you can see.

I am entering this card into are these 3 Sunday Challenges:

Totally Tilda - Distressing (edges of my paper)
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Flowers (and I have plenty of those...lol)
Paper Sundaes - Stitching (around my sentiment)

Thanks so much for popping by.  I appreciate the comments you leave. As you know, I really enjoy reading them., Thanks so much for leaving such nice encouraging ones!  Welcome to the new faces on my Creative Friends list (followers).

Have a super week ahead... hugs Sharon x

The Shabby Tea Room Challenge

Good evening friends... it's a freezing cold evening in Cape Town, but then it is our Winter and I'm sitting in a nice warm lounge in front of the telly, with a lovely fleecy top.  I know some of my blogfriends in the northern hemisphere are literally melting from the heat.... Don't complain girls, it was only a few short months ago that you were cursing the cold and snow.... so hang in there... your Winter is but a few short months away...LOL

I made this cute little card and thought I'd enter it into the Shabby Team Rooms challenge.  This is the first time I'm joining this challenge blog and I don't think it'll be the last. The DT have some fabulous cards to inspire you, so pop along and check it out. The theme is "My Favourite Things" - you need to use your favourite papers and embellishments.  And guess what?  No Random.org, now that's a first!

The image was stamped by a friend a while ago and I have no idea what her name is, sorry!  Thought it was time to use some of those images that one receives as gifts from crafty friends.  The papers are a mixture, but they are my faves, as are the paper flowers made from my favourite flower punch, purchased from Paperchain, a local vendor!  The sentiment is my newest fave which I've just received from Whimsy Stamps. My other favourite embellie is the card candy in the centre of my flowers - I love them!

I am sooo looking forward to a relaxing weekend.  Hope you have a good one. Thanks for popping by today.    hugs Sharon x
