Here's.... Molly

Hi friends... it's just gone 7 minutes past midnight, so Good Morning... hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

I hadn't planned to make a card earlier this evening, but after skype-ing, chatting and crafting, this is what I produced...  I made this card for the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamps Challenge blog.  All you to do is follow the sketch by the lovely, talented Jane...  hope you like it?

I have used one of the adorable Molly Bloom stamps again, purchased from Which Craft.  She's called Farmyard Molly. I have masked her to sit on a wall, which is a stamp from a local SA company.

The heart-shaped pearls were purchased from Crafty Emma's Store.  The sentiment is one of Cuddly Buddly's which I purchased ages ago.  The gorgeous ecru lace is from a local habby store in Cape Town.

Same card, taken from another angle...

Thanks for popping by and visiting me again. If you'd like to leave a comment that would be great.  Happy crafting, hugs Sharon x

Tilda with Hawaii Flower

Hello friends... I made a cute little birthday card for a crafty friend of mine and thought I'd showcase it this evening.  I've used Tilda with Hawaii Flower for the first time, ain't she sweet?  I received quite a few Maggie stamps that I haven't inked up yet, but now that I feel like stamping and playing again, you'll be seeing them soon.

For this card I used the lovely sketch from Simply Magnolia's challenge blog and will be entering it into their challenge.  My stunning designer paper is Wild Rose Studio's Lilac Mist paper back, purchased from Crafty Emma's Store.  There are some really stunning sheets for you to play with.  The craft candy was also purchased from Emma's Store.  The stunning scalloped card was a purchase from Little Claire Designs.  I am soooo happy with this purchase.

I think this sentiment is one of LOTV's. Have you also noticed, I am using a SWIRL for the first time... woohooo... I was complaining to my friend Paola the other evening that I don't have any swirls, when my eye fell onto a gorgeous Marianne Design Die set and lo and behold, there were 2 swirls in the pack.  Funny how your eye just focuses on one thing hey!  Maybe you should look at your things a bit closely now, you may be surprised at what you will find...lol

Here's a final pic for you to look at... you'll notice that I kept the inside very simple this time... Loved using my MS Scallop Dot punch again.

I really had such fun making this card. The colour combination was just so perfect.  Thanks so much for popping by and only 2 more days until the weekend....yayyyy!!!

Warm greetings from a cold and wet Cape Town, hugs Sharon x

p.s. A suggestion:  Next time you post a link, why not insert a link to the Town you live in, so that we can all see what your part of the world looks like... should be FUN!

Totally Gorjuss (GDT) - Water... water...

Happy Saturday everyone and welcome to another challenge at Totally Gorjuss.  Have we got a lovely challenge for you this week...  We'd love to see you make a creation with WATER!

I was really stumped with this one... didn't have a clue what I was going to do, but then my friend Paola reminded me of this cute little Tilda that's been collecting dust in my Magnolia box.  Hope you like her...

Patterned paper is from my Wilson & Maclaghan range again.... just love them!  This Miss Tilda is called BeachTilda.  I have been practising the masking technique.  The rock and grass stamp is from a local company, Great Impressions, purchased from Merrypak.

And here is a side view to give you a peek at the inside of the card, which I like to decorate.  The sentiment is one of Lili of the Valley's.  The card candy is from Crafty Emma's Store and the ribbon from... uhhh, not sure, but isn't it a lovely colour...LOL

I added a little bit of Rangers Stickles, Stardust purchased from Paola's Store to make the water stand out!  Nesties are from Spellbinders range of nesties.

Thanks for popping by.  We hope to see you at the challenge.  Take care, hugs Sharon x

My friend Paola has some awesome Candy on offer.  You'd better hurry along to her Blog to enter... See pic in my side bar... good luck!

Tilda with Lace Jeans...

Good morning and a wonderful Sunday to you all... it's 8.26am as I type this post and there is heavy mist outside. I have the window slightly open and the cool breeze and smell of the ocean is just wonderful... Hope you all have a super day!

I made a card late afternoon, early evening with my new Tilda with Lace Jeans which arrived from 7 Kids College Fund.  I don't use purple/lilac that often, but the Fairy Flora 6x6 paper pad I received from Crafty Emma's Store is just filled with the most beautiful colours and designs.  I am going to have such fun playing with these.

So, here is my little creation for your enjoyment and mine.  Lots to type, so please bear with me...  My regulars will know that I am trying to master the vintagey/chic look, so I bought myself one of those distressing tools from our local The Scrapbook Shop (High Street) and I just hope I've done it justice.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
* Stamp, Scrap and Doodle - Use an old stamp (the corner stamps and music sheet are old but have NEVER been used)
* By the Cute and Girly - Anything Goes
* Magnolia Down Under - Your Favourite Things (the new die from Marianne Designs is an absolute fave, but then so is everything else
* Just Magnolia and hAnglar stAnglar - Make It Lacey (my new crocheted lace)

And here is a side view, so that you can get a glimpse of the inside too.  Believe it or not, but I have used 3 different shades of lilac for my bow. Tilda has been coloured with Copics. The heart-shaped pearls are also from Crafty Emma's Store.

Thanks so much for popping by, I appreciate all comments, so don't be shy!  Going to make another cuppa coffee, so I'll catch up with you all later, hugs Sharon x

Totally Gorjuss (GDT) - Not Square

Hi there friends and family, hope you're all well?  Welcome to another challenge at Totally Gorjuss. Our challenge is for you to make something other than a square card.  Our DT have come up with some wonderful creations for your inspiration, so do pop around and have a look.  Our sponsor this week is Crafter's Companion. Thanks so much to those who took part in our Sketch challenge last week. Your creations were absolutely stunning!

I've chosen one of the pre-cut cards I bought from Crafty Emma's Store.  I just took this beautiful Annalee paper, also from Emma's store, layered it over the card and cut around it by hand (I don't have one of those grand machines unfortunately).  The paper was too beautiful to cover with loads of embellishments, so I've kept them to a minimum by just adding a few flowers and some pearls.

The beautiful dragonfly stamp is from a local company, Great Impressions (no. M1565), bought from Merrypak. I stamped it with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink, Vintage Photo and smudged it to create a vintagey look.  Took some coppery glitter to highlight a few of the images on the stamp.

Our Tilda with Hawaii Flower is a newbie from 7 Kids College Fund.  My order arrived in SA but was sitting at Customs for ever and a day. I thought it had got lost in the post.  Now that they are here, I can't wait to play with my new girlies.  I also received 2 new Magnolia magazines, the Easter and Valentine collections and I just loved looking at all the beautiful creations therein... wow!

Thanks for popping by and apologies that I haven't posted last week, but work and life outside of blogland, has kept me busy.  Take care, hugs Sharon xx

Tilda with Bunch of Roses...

This is the first time I am showcasing Tilda with Bunch of Roses.  She was stamped for me by a friend and I think she is such a cutie that I will have to add her to my Wish List.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

7 Kids College Fund Challenge - April Showers/May Flowers (I've used floral paper and punched flowers)
Making it Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
Wags n Whiskers Challenge - Use a Die or Punch (I've used quite a few punches)

My Tilda is coloured with Copics. I've used a Peach and Purple coloured cardstock mounted onto a plain white card (just love this colour combo). The DP is from my range of W&M papers, purchased from Merrypak.  Love my Upikit flower punch, purchased from a local vendor, Paperchain. The card candy, another favourite was purchased from Crafty Emma's Store.  The border punch was a gift from Debbie, but is already on order as I just LOVE it!

Thanks so much for popping by, always a pleasure reading your lovely comments. hugs Sharon x

Totally Gorjuss GDT - Recipe Challenge

Now wasn't that Royal Wedding something else?  Catherine looked absolutely stunning, as did her sister and the 2 Princes... Will be watching the highlights again today!

Welcome to another challenge at Totally Gorjuss, always nice having you with us.  And a huge thank you to everyone who entered the last challenge.  Today we'd like you to follow a Recipe - 123...  Now, how easy is that?

Here's my little creation which I hope will give you some inspiration.  Do pop along to our challenge blog though and view the rest of the teamies creations too...

My Recipe is:  1 Stamp or 1 Ribbon or 1 Patterned Paper;  2 Large flowers;  3 Nesties

Today I've used the Sugar Nellie stamp, Gorjuss Girl Sitting... I haven't used her in a while and actually forgot how pretty she is. The link will take you to Funky Kits store, she's on sale right now.  My designer paper is a purchase from Crafty Emma's Store. This is Prima's Fairy Flora range of 6x6 papers. They are stunning to work with, not flimsy at all.  It really looks as if she is sitting is a beautiful garden, don't you think?  I am still loving my Upikit butterfly punch... can you tell ??? ... LOL  Ribbon, flowers and pearls from my stash.

Our sponsor this week is Fantastic Ribbon and if you're a fanatic about collecting ribbon like I am, then this will be incentive enough to take part in our challenge. Good luck!

Just had to add another view of this card, so that you can see how I've popped those butterflies. Placed a pearl in the centre and coloured them with pearlised chalk, also add a bit of glitter for some pizzazz!

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:
Crafts For Eternity - Anything Goes
   Fussy and Fancy - Springtime

Thanks for popping by and leaving a comment, I really appreciate them. Hugs Sharon x

Tilda on the Loose...

Happy Saturday everyone... I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.  Last night I made this card for the challenge over at Just Magnolia, which is a Sketch Challenge.  I hope you like it.

Kendall asked me to make this card for a colleague who is leaving their company and she particularly wanted me to use Tilda on the Loose.  I've tried using my new learnt technique on her dress and shoes, but I somehow think I've still got a lot of practising to do.  But, that's what's so nice about this hobby... you're never too old to learn new tricks and I'm learning something new each day...  Thank you so much for the lovely compliments I receive, they are so very much appreciated.  YOU inspire me to progress to the next level...

April Sketch at Just Magnolia

Here's my entry for the challenge.  You will notice that I've flipped the sketch.  This was such an easy one to work with. I will definitely be using it again.  I do most of my crafting and photographing at night, so it was very different taking a pic in the natural light for a change. I just popped the card onto my craft table and clicked away...

The patterned paper is from a local company Wilson and MacLaghan (I just love their paper packs), purchased from Merrypak.  I got the sentiment from them too.  The plain coloured cardstock was purchased from the Scrapbook shop in Bellville.  Our gorgeous Tilda on the Loose is from the Bon Voyage collection and was purchased from 7 Kids College Fund, as well as the Magnolia Sign which is from the Chasing Butterflies collection of stamps.

The stunning card candy and the white-shaped card was a purchase from Crafty Emma's Store, as well as the tiny heart-shaped lilac pearl.  I can't remember where I purchased the lovely organiza ribbon from, but it's so soft and pretty.  Bought some more ribbon today, which I'll be sharing on other cards later this weekend.
That's it for now friends.  Thank you for popping by, your visit really makes my day. All comments are most appreciated.  Now I'm off to do some hopping of my own to return the favour.

Hugs Sharon x

Totally Gorjuss GDT - Bling It!

Happy Saturday everyone... it's weekend... here's wishing you all a blessed Easter.  The challenge today at Totally Gorjuss is Bling It... uhm.... not sure my card is blingy enough... I did manage to add some sparkle to my flowers, sentiment and butterflies... but I am sure YOU can come with something fabulous, so head on over to the Totally Gorjuss challenge blog now to view the rest of the DT's cards... you are going to be so inspired.

Our sponsor this week is Whoopsie Daisy and may I tell you that these stamps are so darn cute... with some digi's they can print a bit too light, but these print absolutely perfectly.  There is such a wonderful variety to choose from, as can be seen by the rest of the DT member's cards... I really enjoyed colouring and making this card and will definitely be using this cutie pie again soon...

My card is a pre-cut card (comes with an envelope) purchased from Crafty Emma's Store... hope you like this shape as you'll be seeing quite a lot of it as I think I overdid it by purchasing uhhh quite a lot!!!!   The digi image was coloured using Copics.  Ribbon, flowers, pearls, doily from my stash.  Butterfly punch is one of Upikit's range. Papers are a pack of 6x6, name has come off, so am unable to share this with you!  Sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly.

I'm hoping you can see some sparkle here... LOL

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and we look forward to viewing your stunning creations. hugs Sharon x

No card...but new Goodies to share...

Good morning all my lovely bloggy friends, especially to my new ones. Always nice welcoming a new friend...

It is a sunny and clear day in Cape Town, but definitely a slight chill in the air, so it's socks and shoes instead of sandals and a fleecy top for when we go out!  Love this weather!!!  Autumn is finally here...

No card to share today, but there will be one tomorrow, so please come back and join in the fun with us at Totally Gorjuss, ok?

I've been doing some shopping lately and as some of my goodies have finally arrived, I thought I'd share them with you...

Oh my goodness me, these 6x6 paper packs purchased from Crafty Emma's Store are as beautiful in real life as they look on this pic.  They are almost tooooo nice to use!!!

Focus on the white shaped blank card in the front - size is 14.5cm x 14.5cm and comes with a plain white envelope. Uhhhh... I went a bit overboard and ordered 100, they come in packs of 50... So, if there are any local girls that would like to purchase a few, please email me privately. I've worked out price and we'll just need to add postage and packaging.

I must show off my 2 new Martha Stewart punches as well, purchased from 7 Kids College Fund.  I love shopping at Tab's.

I have a huge weakness for paper and ribbon and when I popped in to my Optician on Wednesday this week, I just HAD to make a turn at the little craft shop  around the corner and these are the 2 ribbons I bought.  LOVE them!!!!

I have such a lovely blogfriend who has been spoiling me absolutely rotten this past week and this is one of the gifts I received from her. Are these stamps adorable?  Thanks so much Sandra.  I can't wait to use those stamps, flowers and paper... woohoooo!!

Online Colouring Tutorial with Paola

And now for something totally different... I have another dear blogfriend in SA, Paola, who is a master colourist.  Whilst skype-ing the other evening, we thought to use this time productively (for me, that is...lol), as we usually just sit and enjoy each other's company as we craft.  She lives inland up north in SA (Johannesburg), whilst I live down south on the coast (Cape Town)... so we are about a 2.5 hrs flight away from each other.  I had an online colouring class with her as I really admire the way she colours and wanted to know how to get the "folds" in Tilda's dress and also the "shine" in her shoes.  Now look at pics 1-3 and see how I improved from the first one to the third one... YAYYY!!!  Don't focus on her hair, as I was just messing around... focus on the folds in her dress please and the shine in her shoes...lol

I can't wait to try this new technique on a real card, so watch my space, as I have to make a card for Kendall as one of her colleagues is leaving and she wants me to use this little Tilda.  Note: Paola is a very tough teacher, with no holds barred, as she insists on perfection, so having a class with her is not for the faint-hearted OK...lol   I'm laughing as I type this, as I think during the session I must have said to her "don't be so mean to me, I'm not a friggin' child'... but we understand each other so well and I realise as a teacher she only wants to get the best out of her students. I count myself very fortunate indeed for this privilege... THANKS Paola ;)

Gosh, if you've managed to get so far, well done and thanks for taking the time to read my waffling this morning...

Hope you all have a blessed Easter.  With all the holidays I've taken 3 days leave, which means I'll be off for about 10 days... it's like having a mini holiday, which I feel I so deperately need right now. Just want to have fun, chill out and spend time with my loved ones.

Catch up with you all later, hugs Sharon xx

Totally Gorjuss (GDT) - Fluffy

Hello dear friends... It is a beautiful day in Cape Town this morning.  I believe it's going to be a very warm day, but it's still nice and fresh right now (07:23).

I have some good news that I've been wanting to share with you... I've been invited to join the wonderful team  on the Totally Gorjuss Challenge Blog as a Guest Gorjusette for a 6-monthterm and naturally... I accepted... woohooo!!!  I can't tell you how thrilled I am.

As my regular followers will know, I just love my girly cards and I now have the opportunity to showcase all the lovely girly stamps that I have in my stash, amongst them some of my very first Gorjuss Girls stamps, which you can purchase from Funky Kits.  I'll be showcasing them later on.

The challenge this week over at the Totally Gorjuss challenge blog is for you to put something Fluffy on your creation.  I don't have any fluffy bits and pieces amongst my stash, but I'm sure this little birdie on this gorgeous Sugar Nellie stamp qualifies as something Fluffy...LOL.  She's from the Home Grown collection at Funky Kits, called Country Style

There was no name on the blue spotted paper, so I can unfortunately not share that with you.  The heart designer paper is from my W&M collection of papers.  The image was coloured using Copics. I stamped her onto Opale Wove White Shimmer cardstock, which is fabulous for colouring with Copics.  I cut her out with a Nellie Snellen die.  Got to use my new EK Success flower punch again... love it. Added some card candy in the centre, purchased from Crafty Emma's Store and added a little pearl in the centre for class.  The sentiment is from a local South African company, Great Impressions, which I purchased from Merrypak. The lovely blue lace and flowers from my stash.

I bought 2 new pairs of winter jarmies last weekend at Woollies and the 1 pair had a lengthy piece of gorgeous ribbon tied around it, as one would wrap up a gift.  Never one to waste anything, I kept it and as you can see, I had the opportunity to use it on this card. It's amazing how you look at things differently with your crafter's eye!

Our wonderful team of Gorjusettes have made some stunning creations for your inspiration, so please pop around to the Totally Gorjuss challenge blog and play along with us this week.  Challenges take place every Saturday, so come along and join in the FUN.  The sponsor this week is Crafter's Companion.  If you have not visited their website before, you're in for a real treat.  There is something to suit everyone's taste.  Happy browsing...  Good luck with the challenge, we look forward to viewing your creations.

hugs Sharon x

Tilda with Many Hearts...

Hello friends... thanks so much for all for your visits and lovely comments, I so enjoy reading them.  Thank you too to the lovely new faces that have joined my Creative Friends list... I am so pleased you found something of interest here at Sharon's Kardz Korner and I look forward to popping around and visiting you too...

Today I am showcasing the gorgeous little Tilda with Many Hearts again.  She is a relatively new purchase from 7 Kids College Fund and I am so enjoying colouring her in different colours and this time I've chosen lovely lilac and teal... I hope you like it...

These are not colours I use that often and looking at them now, I quite like them. I'm finally using some of those flowers I have in my jars.  The heart shaped pearl was a gift from Amelia and came in very handy here.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe - Pearls
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes (add a Button)
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Ribbon

Thought I would share a peek of the inside too.  Kept it very simple this time. I should use my border punches more, as I see so many of you talented crafters doing.  I just seem to forget about them in my drawers... I have however used my EK Success floral punch again with some card candy from Crafty Emma's Store

I hope you've all had a wonderful Sunday.  It's back to the old grindstone for me tomorrow (LOL), so for those fortunate enough to stay at home... enjoy your crafting.  I'll only be able to get back to my craftdesk in the evenings.

Wishing you all SUPER week ahead, hugs Sharon xx
